Our hunting trip to Saskatchewan was great. The weather was unusually hot...80*+ several days and there was lots of water so ducks were spread out. Found several honey holes though! Geese were hard to find because there were few pea, wheat or barley fields. Most farmers seeded canola and oat because of high contract prices. We still had fairly good success when we hunted geese. The northern birds had just started to come down when the last few days we hunted. All in all it was a good trip.

Me in my layout blind with my first crane!
2nd day in N Sask. water, water, ducks and more ducks. The most I have seen in 30 years up here. Yesterday really hot 90. Terrible duck hunting weather. Killed 6 g/w teal. Today weather changed and Donna and I got our 16 Canada geese and Donna got her 1st Sand Hill Crane. Should be a great duck season if and when they get to Ill.
Shot my first crane this year while Joe was out picking up a cripple goose.

Not a full llimit but still a great day in the field
My favorite honey hole. Easy to hunt and birds came in beautifully
Like I said a real 'honey hole'
